I am looking: looking at, looking for, looking out, looking in, and just looking. I make pictures-explanations or translations or (mis)interpretations –in paint, ink, wax, paper, crayon, found objects-whatever I find enticing and interactive. Like a hologram, my work holds experience and ephemera in place.

Andrea Schwartz-Feit is best known for her abstract, nature based paintings and figurative sculpture. Drawing, her first love, has become an intrinsic element of her newest work.  Her formative studies were with Peter Agostini and Milton Resnick at the New York Studio School in the late 1960’s. In the 1980’s she briefly attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and later earned a BFA at Marylhurst University. Zen training and the culture of the 60’s are incorporated into her life and work.  Since her first exhibition in 1989 Andrea has exhibited widely. She has been represented by Butters Gallery since 1999.
